Everton was eliminated from the FA Cup after losing 1-0 to second-tier side Reading in the fifth round on Tuesday.
Matt Mills scored after 26 minutes to beat an Everton side which had ousted holder Chelsea in the previous round.
In the quarterfinals on March 13, Reading will face either Manchester City or Aston Villa, who play on Wednesday.
In a further blow for Everton, midfielder Marouane Fellaini was ruled out for the rest of the season after injuring his ankle on Saturday against Sunderland. He will undergo surgery on Monday.
