Everton missed the chance to leapfrog Aston Villa into fifth place in the Premier League after a 0-0 draw against Tottenham at Goodison Park.

The only consolation was the FA Cup finalists avoided any more of the damaging injuries that have dogged their season and - in the case of Phil Jagielka - robbed a star man of a cup final date.
