Eto'o reverses retirement to line up in playoff
Samuel Eto'o has been selected in Cameroon's starting lineup for the World Cup playoff against Tunisia on Sunday after reversing a decision to retire from internationals with his country two games away from the World Cup.
The striker and captain had said last month that he was quitting the national team for undisclosed personal reasons after helping Cameroon qualify for the final playoffs.
But coach Volker Finke wanted Eto'o to return and the Chelsea forward was convinced to link up with the squad again this week ahead of the crucial playoff in Tunisia after a meeting with a representative of Cameroon President Paul Biya.
The 32-year-old Eto'o is Cameroon's all-time leading scorer and has won the African Cup with his country and Champions League titles at club level.
