ESPN hires McManaman as soccer analyst

Former England and Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman has been hired as a soccer analyst by ESPN after working for the network during the World Cup.

McManaman will be a studio and game analyst for ESPN's U.S. and British networks in coverage of the Premier League, the U.S. national team, the 2014 World Cup, the 2013 Confederation Cup and some Major League Soccer matches.

McManaman played for Liverpool (1990-99), Real Madrid from (1999-03) and Manchester City (2003-05). He had three goals in 37 games for England from 1994-01, playing in the 1998 World Cup and the 1996 and 2000 European Championship.
