Espanyol has signed Mexico defender Hector Moreno from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.
Espanyol says on its website that the 23-year-old international joins the Spanish club on a five-year deal. Spanish media put the transfer fee at about $5.8 million.
Moreno, who is playing for Mexico at the Gold Cup, has helped AZ Alkmaar to league and cup triumphs since arriving from Mexican side Pumas in 2007.
