Sevilla says defender Julian Escude has undergone successful surgery for a nose fracture.
Escude was injured in the eighth minute of France's World Cup playoff against Ireland on Wednesday. Sevilla says the operation was performed in Paris.
Escude will miss a league match against Tenerife on Saturday, when a club doctor will examine the France defender before he returns to the Spanish club on Sunday.
