EPL Weekly Stat Leaders Update - Manchester City Player Rank?

Match day 4 is in the books for the EPL, and while Manchester City sit on top of the league table, what about goals, assists, clean sheets, and fair play?

Manchester City is a perfect four for four in the table that matters the most. However, everyone loves stats and rankings. Each week we will provide an update on who is leading in the major statistical categories, as well as where Manchester City players feature.

– Three players are tied at the top with 4 goals – Michail Antonio (West Ham), Diego Costa (Chelsea), and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United)

– Man City feature two players in the top 10: Sergio Aguero (3) and Nolito (2)

– There is a 10 way tie at the top of the chart with a ton of players on 2 assists.

– Manchester City have two players in that group – Kevin De Bruyne & Kelechi Iheanacho.

Passes

– Jordan Henderson tops the EPL at the moment with 320 passes after four matches.

– Fernandinho is in second place with 278 passes, with David Silva not too far behind on 259 passes in 6th place.

Saves

– Burnley’s Tom Heaton has a four save lead over 2nd place, having stopped a goal 20 times already.

– Manchester City rank quite low on this chart due to their possession game, positive early season results and a change in the nets already. Willy Caballero ranks 18th on 5 saves.

– Man City’s top player in this category is Nicolas Otamendi on 12 tackles. How will these numbers look over the year with playing out of the back and the introduction of Gundogan?

Clean Sheets

– There is a three way tie for keepers, each with two clean sheets, David De Gea (Manchester United), Ben Foster (West Brom) and Maarten Stekelenburg (Everton).

– City while topping the table have yet to keep in a clean sheet after four matches.

Fair Play Table

– Hull City are the most well behaved team thus far with only 4 caution points, while Watford already has accumulated 17 points (14 yellow cards and 1 red card).

– Manchester City sit on 8 points, all on yellow cards.
