Emon takes up Ajaccio role
Albert Emon has been named the new coach of Ajaccio and will begin in his new role on January 2, the Ligue 1 club confirmed on Friday.
Emon, who has previously coached Marseille, Nice, and most recently Cannes, will fill the post left vacant after Alex Dupont was sacked earlier this week.
Dupont was fired after the Corsicans had only managed to accrue 19 points from their first 18 league games this season.
A statement on the club's official website said: "It is now official, Albert Emon will be the new coach of Ajaccio from 2 January 2013."
Dupont's assistants Stephane Paganelli and Thierry Debes are temporarily in control of first-team affairs and will oversee Saturday's league fixture against Rennes, the last of the year before the winter break.
