Hearts have added two more names to their already-lengthy injury list ahead of Tuesday's visit of St Johnstone to Tynecastle.
Midfielder Scott Robinson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after being told he needs surgery on a serious knee injury.
Defender Dylan McGowan limped out of Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Motherwell and will also sit out the clash against Saints.
Danny Grainger, Marius Zaliukas, Callum Patterson and Jamie Hamill remain long-term absentees as caretaker-manager Gary Locke attempts to guide Hearts to their first win in seven matches.
St Johnstone are able to welcome back defender Callum Davidson to their squad after his recovery from illness.
Midfielder Murray Davidson is in line for a recall after completing a suspension as Saints look for a win which would take them into third place in the SPL.
Worthington, 51, was confirmed on Monday as successor to Gary Mills, who was sacked after Saturday's home defeat to Bradford, and has appointed former Bury goalkeeper coach Barber and York's youth-team boss Torpey to work alongside him.
"Fred has been with me since Blackpool," said Worthington. "When he was at Bolton he used to come in for a couple of afternoons a week and take the keepers.
"Then I had Fred with me for four and a half years at Northern Ireland. He brings fantastic knowledge and experience to that position and is somebody that works the keepers extremely hard, which I like.
"If you look at (Jussi) Jaaskelainen, ex-Bolton now at West Ham, Fred had a huge part to play in the achievements he's made, so there's a lot of quality there and a lot of football experience, which is good to have alongside you.
"And Steve has been at the club for a number of years.
"He's got local knowledge and knows the players inside out and it was right that we moved him up alongside us.
"It's good experience for him as well and gives him the opportunity of seeing what it's like at the top end. He's a good lad, I've been very impressed with what I've seen so far."
Barber has taken up his new role with Worthington after leaving the Shakers, who he joined at the start of this season.

Barber joined up with the Shakers at the start of this season following the departure of boss Richie Barker and predecessor Anthony Williams to Crawley, before being handed the post of a full-time basis when Kevin Blackwell was installed as Barker's successor.
Blackwell told Bury's official website: "I'd like to thank Fred for his time and effort and that he has put into Bury FC, and for the help and assistance that he has given me whilst I have been here. We all wish him the very best for the future."
The 51-year-old former Norwich and Northern Ireland boss was installed on Monday morning as successor to Gary Mills, who was sacked following Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Bradford.
Mills steered the Minstermen to a promotion and FA Trophy double last May, but they have now gone 11 league games without a win and lie 18th in League Two, just four points above the relegation zone.
Worthington wasted no time in reminding several players they could soon be out of work.
"There's a lot of players out of contract in the summer and to get a job in football now is not easy," Worthington said.
"So for this club to stay in the Football League may be, could be, a wonderful thing for some of the players, who are out of contract and looking for work next summer.
"For all the good football we play, we need to play with more energy, we need to play closer to the opposition's goal and probably play at a higher tempo and that's possible, they're capable of that.
"We need to get points, we need 11 more points as soon as possible.
"They're good enough to be in League Two, but saying it and doing it are two different things.
"So we've got to go and deliver on the pitch over the course of 90 minutes, game in, game out, to achieve what the football club wants and deserves. First of all that's to preserve League Two status and then we can start to look and plan ahead."
The well-travelled 34-year-old celebrated his renewed one-year deal by scoring a spectacular long-range volley in Saturday's 3-0 win over Rochdale.
"Younger lads might have gone but I enjoy it here and I'm happy to stay," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"I'm effective and I know what I can do at this level, so I think I've still got a lot to offer."
