Elephant says Poland to win Euro 2012 first game

A supposedly psychic elephant has made her first Euro 2012 prediction and indicated that co-host Poland will beat Greece in the tournament's opening game on Friday.

While the players are toiling in training, the 33-year-old elephant called Citta made her prediction Wednesday by happily picking a melon marked Poland. Two others were marked for Greece and for a draw. The pachyderm will be the co-host's equivalent of Paul the Octopus, the tentacled tipster who successfully predicted results at the 2010 World Cup.

Citta's choice was documented with pictures on the website of the zoo in Krakow, southern Poland, where she lives. The management will seek her opinion before every Poland match and throughout the latter stages of the tournament until the final on July 1 in co-host Ukraine.
