Eardley: Adam will get his move

The future of the former Rangers midfielder was one of the main talking points of the transfer window, with Blackpool rejecting offers from Liverpool and a transfer request from the player himself before accepting a bid from Tottenham late on deadline day. However, there was not enough time for the deal to be completed and the 25-year-old will remain at Bloomfield Road until at least the end of the season. And Eardley, who is preparing for Wales' Carling Nations Cup clash with the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday night, says that is a huge boost for Ian Holloway's men, even if he accepts Adam may not be with them much longer. "Charlie played a massive part in us getting promoted," said Eardley. "I think he scored 19 goals last season from midfield, which is excellent, and he has proved again this season what a massive player he is for us. "We have done well to keep him but I am sure Charlie will get his move in the summer or whenever because he is good enough to play for one of the big clubs. "But for now he is still a Blackpool player and hopefully he can continue to play at his best between now and the end of the season." Saturday's 5-3 defeat at Everton was Blackpool's seventh in eight Premier League games, a run that has seen them drop to 15th in the table, just two points above the relegation zone. But Eardley is adamant that morale is still high in the camp. He said: "We have not had the best of runs but at our place once one game is done it's straight on to the next one, we don't dwell on things. "There's never a quiet moment with us but we need to do the right things and keep ourselves in the Premier League."
