PSV Eindhoven opened a two-point lead at the top of the Dutch league on Sunday with a 4-1 win over NAC Breda after FC Twente drew 1-1 against NEC Nijmegen.
Ajax captalized on Twente's draw, beating VVV-Venlo off Mounir El Hamdaoui's first-half goal to move to within three points of the defending champions.
At Eindhoven, Hungary forward Balazs Dzsudzsak put PSV in front with a curling free kick in the 25th minute.
Nemanja Gudelj was sent off in the 15th for NAC after picking his second booking. Jeremain Lens, Ola Toivonen and Francisco Rodriguez scored a goal each in the second half to secure the win.

Emir Bajrami's 27th-minute goal cancelled Niki Zimling's opener at Enschede.
Also Sunday, Feyenoord drew 2-2 with ADO the Hague.
