Doyle tips Jarvis for England call
And Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has reiterated that the 24-year-old, who recently signed a new five year contract, "isn't going anywhere". Jarvis has impressed with his performances against Chelsea, Manchester United - in the Carling Cup - and Manchester City in successive matches. Doyle said: "Jarvo is playing well enough to get the call-up from England. "He is as good as that at the moment. He deserves it. I can't remember the last time a Wolves player got called up. "Not only on the pitch, but off the pitch, he does everything right. "Physically he looks after himself brilliantly and he is always trying to improve. "It would be a just reward if he gets a call-up. I see him play for us every week and he has been excellent." McCarthy said: "Matt is playing as well as he has ever done. He's causing problems to anybody who he plays against, whether on the right or left. "He gave Ashley Cole as good a game as he has had, caused Gary Neville and Wes Brown problems and the same with Micah Richards. "I don't think anyone is enjoying playing against him. "I get asked if I am worried about keeping Matt and the answer is 'no, not really,' because he has just signed a new five-year deal. "We all know that gives you a little bit of protection in terms of the price but he isn't going anywhere. "If we are doing well, there will be no desire to leave if one of the big boys come in for anybody." Doyle feels Wolves will start to pose a problem to teams on both flanks now that Stephen Hunt has recovered from his long term foot injury. He made his first Premier League start for Wolves in the 2-1 win over Manchester City and will look to make a similar impact against Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow. Doyle said: "Hunty has been out for a while so it is going to be tough but adrenalin gets you through. "He played most of the Carling Cup game against Man Utd and a lot of the Man City game and that will have been beneficial for him. "I knew him at Reading and he was a key player for them - and Hull - and he can be a key player for us when he is fit and sharp. "If we can get him and Jarvo on fire it will be a big boost. "Like I said, Jarvo is playing well and once Hunty gets fit and sharp on the other wing, we will be frightening a good few teams." Doyle is hoping Wolves' win over Manchester City can kick-start their season in the same way as the surprise win at Tottenham during the last campaign. He said: "The Man City win was similar to what happened with Tottenham in that no-one expected it. We went on a run after that and sometimes things happen when you least expect it. "We've got another tough game against Manchester United and it will be nice to do something similar. "Your confidence does take a knock when you have a bad run. There is only so long you can keep going saying 'we played well and got beat'. "Last weekend's win was a massive boost for us and it surprised a few people. "It didn't surprise us but it was still a big confidence shot for us."
