Dortmund's Gundogan yet to make decision on his playing future
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan could yet join Manchester United this summer, according to a report from Germany.
Gundogan made what is likely to be his final appearance for Dortmund in Saturday's German Cup final defeat to Wolfsburg, with the club already confirming the 24-year-old will not sign a new contract at the Westfalenstadion. They are expected to cash in this summer to avoid losing a prized asset for nothing when his deal expires at the end of next season - and United, Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have all been tipped to make offers.
The latter two clubs were reported to have moved to the front of the queue for Gundogen, but German newspaper Der Western claims United have 'largely agreed' a deal. The player himself is giving little away, however.
When asked if he was learning Catalan or Bavarian, Gundogan said: "We are holding talks yes, but no decision has been made. I can't say more than that on this.
"I'll leave it [Dortmund future] open as to whether they continue with or without me. BVB are a great team and a really good coach is coming. I don't know how the team will look next season. The challenge will be to get the great potential of this team back on the pitch. We managed to do that too little during the last year.
"In some ways we're glad this difficult season is over now."
