Borussia Dortmund could be crowned Bundesliga champions this weekend when they travel to local rivals Borussia Monchengladbach.
A win for Jurgen Klopp's side combined with anything less than a win for Bayer Leverkusen in their clash with Hoffenheim would see the Westphalians mathematically seal the title for the first time since 2002.
Dortmund could therefore become the third earliest title winner on record in the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich twice clinched the title sooner, celebrating with four matches to go in both 1973 and 2003, but the important thing in Dortmund is getting the silverware in their hands sooner or later, and that is purely down to them.
"We want to win and get the three points and I am not interested in anything more than that at this moment," said Klopp.
"We cannot influence the rest anyway."
Even if Dortmund are crowned 2010 champions this weekend, they will not receive the trophy until after their final game of the season at home to Eintracht Frankfurt on May 14.
Nothing else can be decided in the Bundesliga this weekend, but the stakes are still high for each and every club, whether it be in search of a place in Europe, or to avoid relegation.
At the bottom, Borussia Monchengladbach will be searching for maximum points against Dortmund to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation alive while Wolfsburg and St Pauli host Cologne and Werder Bremen respectively needing wins to reduce the arrears on safety from the current four points.
Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern and Eintracht Frankfurt are not safe either and they all need at least two more wins from the final four games to secure their top flight status.
Stuttgart host Hamburg, Lautern head to Schalke and Frankfurt entertain Bayern.
The race for a place in the Europa League could become a bit clearer when fifth-placed Mainz travel to their nearest challengers Nurnberg with just two points between them.
