DORTMUND, Germany (AP) Borussia Dortmund has accepted a bid from Manchester United for midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who would become Jose Mourinho's third signing as manager if the transfer is completed.

Dortmund said it was agreeing to sell the 27-year-old Armenia international to the 20-time English champions as he had only one year remaining on his Dortmund contract.

United is yet to announce a deal for Mkhitaryan, who is yet to agree on personal terms, pass a medical examination or receive a British work permit.

If the transfer is completed, Mkhitaryan will follow striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and defender Eric Bailly into United since Mourinho succeeded Louis van Gaal in May.
