The 29-year-old has made the most of his move to Bloomfield Road last summer, scoring eight times for the Premier League newcomers. Campbell is a late developer, making his name at non-league Yeading before having a spell with Birmingham in 2006-07. He then dropped out of the Premier League, moving on to Leicester and having a loan at Derby, but never lost hope of returning to the top. Campbell told the club's website, blackpoolfc.co.uk: "I do think of England, it's a dream of mine, it can be a funny game and I could end up getting a cap. "I could be another Les Ferdinand or Ian Wright, who both played in non-league football too. "I've met Cyrille Regis a couple of times as well and he started off in non-league and did it. "I'd love to think I'm now proving to kids who have had knockbacks and are playing non-league football that it can be done. "People think it can't happen in this day and age, but it can." Campbell's immediate priority is helping keep Blackpool in the top flight. The Seasiders made a fine start to the season but lost five games in succession before Saturday's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa. Campbell said: "We were more like ourselves on Saturday. I don't quite know what's been missing. "We've been working and trying as hard as ever, but something just wasn't clicking the way it was earlier in the season. "It will be a terrific achievement if we stay up and we'll fight every inch of the way."
