France coach Didier Deschamps has called up Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons to replace the injured Etienne Capoue for upcoming World Cup qualifiers away to Georgia and Belarus.
Capoue is likely to be unavailable for the next four weeks after scans showed he sprained his left ankle in Tottenham's 1-0 loss to Arsenal in the north London derby on Sunday.
France plays Georgia on Friday and Belarus four days later. Deschamps' team is in second place in Group I, one point behind Spain after losing 1-0 at home to the world champions in March.
Deschamps will wait until Tuesday before deciding whether to replace Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier, who is recovering from a hamstring injury.
