Derby have allowed USA Under-23 striker Conor Doyle to join DC United until the end of the Major League Soccer season.

Doyle had been training with Colorado Rapids since the end of May, but now, as part of the MLS's lottery process, the player has been snapped up by the Washington-based side.

Rams boss Nigel Clough told the club's official website: "It's taken a little while to get a deal sorted but we're pleased that Conor will be able to spend some time with DC United and get some games under his belt.

"He's at the stage where he needs to play some regular football to continue to develop as a player and we'll watch how he does with interest."
