Defender Ziegler joins Juventus

Reto Ziegler has become Juventus' second signing in two days, agreeing a four-year contract with the club.

The Swiss international signs on a free transfer from Sampdoria, until the end of June 2015. On Wednesday, Italy World Cup winner Andrea Pirlo joined the double European champion.

The 25-year-old Ziegler says ''it is a step up in quality in my career. I want to show I can play with these great players.''

Ziegler has won 21 caps with Switzerland and previously played for Tottenham Hotspur, Wigan Athletic and Hamburg before joining Sampdoria in 2007.
