Deeney apologises to Hornets
Deeney was sentenced to 10 months in jail in June after pleading guilty to affray for an attack on a student outside a nightclub.
The 23-year-old striker, who scored 12 goals last season, has apologised for his part in the incident and hopes to be given a second chance by Watford to make amends at Vicarage Road
In a statement issued to Sky Sports, Deeney said: "I made a terrible mistake and I'm now serving my sentence for this.
"I have apologised to the victim involved and I would also like to place on record my apology to the fans and players of Watford Football Club for letting them down with my indiscretion.
"If the club decide to retain my services, then I will give my all this season to help them achieve the goals set by the new management team."
