Debuchy out with injury for Georgia and Spain
France right back Mathieu Debuchy will miss the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Spain because of a thigh muscle injury and has been replaced with Rod Fanni.
France coach Didier Deschamps said Monday that tests revealed Debuchy ''has a thigh muscle tear,'' without giving further details. The Newcastle player limped off early in the first half of the match against Wigan on Sunday.
France has other injury concerns, with winger Franck Ribery recovering from an ankle ligament injury, and midfielder Yohan Cabaye and winger Jeremy Menez both nursing groin strains.
Deschamps says those three were to train separately from the rest of the squad on Monday evening but ''they should train with the rest of the squad (on Tuesday).''
France plays Georgia on Friday and Spain four days later.
