Portsmouth says salary payments are on their way to its players.

Chief executive Peter Storrie said Thursday that fresh funding was received in the morning by the debt-ridden Premier League club.

Storrie says the payments are "on the way" to the players, who were to be paid on Dec. 31.

It is the third time this season that the bottom-place club has failed to pay its squad on time.
