Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi has been ruled out of Tuesday's European Championship qualifier against Serbia with a muscle injury.
The Italian Football Federation says Monday that De Rossi felt pain after training Sunday and an exam Monday revealed a minor problem in his left leg.
Team physician Enrico Castellacci says "it's nothing serious but he's unavailable for tomorrow."
With Riccardo Montolivo already out due to a minor ankle injury, that leaves Andrea Pirlo, Stefano Mauri, Angelo Palombo, Claudio Marchisio and Andrea Lazzari as midfielders for the match in Genoa.
