With just 12 months left to run on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium, and with City blessed with an abundance of options in the middle of the park, speculation has suggested that De Jong could be ready to take on a new challenge. A move to German giants Bayern Munich has been touted, with the Dutchman having spent three years with Hamburg in the Bundesliga prior to joining City in January 2009. De Jong has been offered fresh terms by the reigning Premier League champions, but is yet to put pen to paper. A delay in committing himself to the club has only served to fuel the transfer rumours, but the 27-year-old enforcer claims to be at peace with his situation. After turning out in a pre-season friendly against Stockport on Saturday, De Jong told the Manchester Evening News: "I don't want to talk about that at the moment, it's not in my mind - however, I'm playing football and I'm happy here. "I'm happy when I'm on the pitch and when I'm playing; football's the most beautiful game in the world and you have to enjoy every moment." For now, De Jong's focus is locked on helping City to build on their successes of the last two years - with conquering Europe a top priority after tasting FA Cup and Premier League glory. "Of course, that's what we all want because that's the way to go forward," he said. "We set ourselves the goal of taking it step by step. "We won the FA Cup last year, then the Premier League last season, so the next thing is the Champions League. "However, that doesn't change the fact that we're in for all the titles this year - Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup. "We want to win them all but we have to maintain our focus."
