Dawson eyes Spurs extension
Tottenham defender Michael Dawson has announced that he would like to remain at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future.
Dawson was close to leaving Spurs last summer after the club accepted a ?9million bid from QPR, with manager Andre Villas-Boas prepared to let the centre-back go.
However, the England international rejected a move to Loftus Road, and has enjoyed a rejuvenation this season.
Dawson, who has made 33 appearances and captained the side after the retirement of Ledley King, would be happy to extend his stay at the club.
"I've got two years left and I'd love to extend that," Dawson said.
"Hopefully if the manager and the chairman want me for that long, it would be great.
"I never gave leaving Spurs a thought last summer, having been here for eight years."
Spurs host Sunderland on Sunday, knowing that they need North London rivals Arsenal to slip up if they are to qualify for the Champions League.
