Cuellar: I'm fit to face Wolves
Aston Villa defender Carlos Cuellar has declared himself fit for Saturday's crunch Premier League home relegation battle with Wolves.
Cuellar has been sidelined for three weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in the 1-1 draw at Blackpool.
But his availability for the meeting with Mick McCarthy's side could not be better timed.
Richard Dunne (dislocated shoulder) and Ciaran Clark (suspended) are definitely out while doubts remain over James Collins (calf) and Luke Young (knee).
Cuellar said: "It's been frustrating because I have been out injured for some time. I've really wanted to help but not been able to.
"But the most important thing is I am fit, feel really good and I am ready to go.
"I am 100% fit now and raring to play.
"I might have an opportunity to play because of injuries and suspensions and I will do my very best for Villa. I can't wait to contribute. I am ready."
Cuellar knows the importance of Saturday's game - and the need for Villa to keep a clean sheet.
He said: "Clean sheets are so, so important. That's going to be vital as we look to finish the season well.
"The table is so tight but we know if we keep a clean sheet it will be at least one point and if our attacking players show their usual quality, it will be three in the games coming up.
"We want to win games but as we come towards the end of the season, making sure we don't lose games is important for the team too."
Collins and Dunne, meanwhile, are expected to find out on Thursday the extent of their punishment for being involved in a row with coaching staff during a team bonding day,
The pair have had to explain their actions at club disciplinary panels during the past 48 hours.
Villa could hand out the maximum fine allowed of two weeks wages if they feel the actions of Collins and Dunne merit such stiff action.
Gerard Houllier will stage his weekly press conference at the club's Bodymoor Heath training ground complex.
But there is speculation that Collins and Dunne's punishment will be made public ahead of that media briefing.
The alleged bust-up occurred at a health spa in Leicestershire last week with Dunne and Collins making their feelings known to members of the coaching team.
Dunne, signed from Manchester City just over 18 months ago, had a training ground altercation with Houllier's number two, Gary McAllister, before Christmas.
