The Columbus Crew will face Stoke City of the English Premier League in a friendly match on July 24 at Crew Stadium.
Stoke City, one of the oldest professional football teams in the world, is the fifth Premier League team to set a U.S. friendly date. Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Aston Villa also have games scheduled.
In 1967 during the United Soccer Association's only season before merging into the NASL, Stoke City players represented Cleveland as the Cleveland Stokers.
