Thibaut Courtois claims that his Chelsea and Belgium teammate Eden Hazard has the potential to win a Ballon d'Or.

The attacking midfielder or winger has scored 14 goals in 40 matches in all competitions so far this season.

And Courtois told RMC: "He is not yet at the level of Messi and Ronaldo, who are above all other players. But Eden has the potential to get there. He's only 24 years old. He can still improve.

"He has the potential to be a future Ballon d'Or winner but, as Messi and Ronaldo play like that, with 30 goals in 30 games, it will not be easy for him."

Hazard leads the odds to win the PFA Player of the Year award ahead of his Chelsea teammates Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, John Terry and Nemanja Matic.

Courtois and Hazard will face PSG on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge with the No. 1 warning against playing for the 0-0 draw that would take the Blues through.

"We are confident but we expect a very difficult game," he said.

"PSG will come here to score goals. It will be a very tough game. We are ready and we hope to win in front of our fans.

"We need to see the tactics that the coach will put in place. What is certain is that we cannot wait.

"We must defend well but do not aim at 0-0 because, if we concede a goal, it's PSG who qualify with a 1-0 win. I think we should play with our qualities, trying to score goals to win this game.

"PSG are a very good team. They have a powerful attack, good players in the middle, solid defenders and a good goalkeeper. This is a team that can reach the final."
