Cottagers chasing Halliche
The Algeria international was set to join recently-promoted Swansea but it was revealed on Thursday that their loan deal has been vetoed by FIFA. Halliche and Lens defender Daniel Situ both agreed moves to south Wales but had international clearance rejected by football's world governing body after minor delays in processing the transfers. With the deadline day transfers falling through, Fulham are now seeking to add Halliche to their Premier League squad. The Cottagers only registered 23 out of the 25 players allowed and Press Association Sport understands they have contacted the Premier League to request the Algerian's addition. However, Fulham's application will depend on whether Swansea successfully appeal FIFA's decision. The Swans are awaiting written confirmation from the governing body before deciding whether to appeal the decision, which came despite the Premier League, the Football Association of Wales, the Football Association, the French Football Federation and the Professional Footballers' Association all fighting their corner.
