Cruz Azul goalkeeper Jose de Jesus Corona will miss the Mexico City derby match against America after a disciplinary commission upheld his suspension for a red card.
Cruz Azul had appealed the ban on the grounds that the two yellow cards Corona received from referee Fabricio Morales against Necaxa last Friday were unfair.
The goalkeeper was sent off after receiving his second booking in the final minute of the match for protesting a decision to rule out a late goal for his side.
"After undertaking an analysis, the request has been deemed unfounded," the Mexican football federation's disciplinary committee said in a statement.
