COLOGNE, Germany (AP) Promoted Cologne has signed Albania defender Mergim Mavraj from Greuther Fuerth on a three-year contract.
Greuther Fuerth failed to return to the Bundesliga when it lost a two-leg playoff against Hamburger SV.
Mavraj was born in Germany and played two matches for Germany's under-21 team before deciding to make himself available for the land of his parents. He has played 15 matches for Albania.
