Coloccini sorry for Reebok red
Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini has insisted he did not elbow Bolton's John Elmander - but admitted he deserved his red card.
The 28-year-old Argentina international was sent off after catching the Swede with a flailing arm during Saturday's 5-1 Premier League defeat at the Reebok Stadium.
However, he is adamant he did not deliberately elbow the Bolton man.
Coloccini told the Evening Chronicle: "I apologised to my team-mates - that is normal. I am sorry for everybody, but now we have to move on.
"It was a red card. It wasn't with my elbow, but it was the same because it was my arm.
"It was a red card. It's disappointing, although I can't do anything about it now. The next time, I know I can't do it."
Coloccini will miss Sunday's clash with Chelsea at St James' Park and his side's fixtures at West Brom and at home to Liverpool.
The fall-out from the Magpies' black day at the Reebok could yet increase with the Football Association looking into Mike Williamson's off-the-ball clash with Elmander.
