A football coach has taken to the field in the Belarusian Premier League at the age of 56, but couldn't stop his team losing.

Yuri Pudyshev, an assistant coach for Dinamo Brest, came on late in the second half against BATE Borisov, wearing the number 56 shirt. He was greeted by a standing ovation, but Dinamo still went on to lose 2-0.

The Belarusian Soccer Federation nonetheless named Pudyshev the best player in the game.

Pudyshev played for Dinamo Minsk, which won the Soviet Union's national championship in 1982, and was a member of the Soviet national team. He has made previous appearances for Dinamo Brest at the ages of 54 and 55.
