French defender Francois Clerc has signed a two-year contract with Nice after three months of uncertainty about his future following two injury-hit seasons.

The deal was announced Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Clerc was cut by Lyon after playing only 16 league games in 2 seasons due to knee injuries, and he had struggled to find a new team.

The right back, who has played 14 games for France, spent the offseason training with a fitness coach.
