Fulham boss Martin Jol is optimistic winger Ashkan Dejagah will be fit for Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash away to Aston Villa.

The 26-year-old Iran international missed Sunday's loss at Newcastle after suffering the injury against QPR.

Jol said in the Fulham Chronicle: "Ashkan's sprained his ankle. I'm hoping he can join us for Aston Villa."

Mladen Petric (hamstring) is still out while Eyong Enoh is a doubt after suffering an ankle injury on his debut against the Magpies.

The England Under-19 international is tipped for a big future in the game having starred on his way through the ranks in Alex's famed youth system.

Clayton has been unable to nail down a regular starting spot this season but took his opportunity with both hands when named in the first XI for a third consecutive match on Sunday, scoring as part of a man-of-the-match display in Crewe's 2-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy final triumph over Southend.

"I think it's all a learning experience for me," he said.

"I'm only 18 and Steve and Bakes know what they're doing, bringing me in and out and keeping me hungry to play.

"At Wembley they gave me the chance and I believe I took it."

Clayton was also eager to credit a team effort and paid tribute to superb performances from Chuks Aneke, Abdul Osman and captain and fellow goalscorer Luke Murphy.

He added: "I think everyone showed their potential, we all played as well as we could. It really worked with me and Chuks up there.

"He made me look good at times so credit to him and credit to the likes of Murph and Abdul who played well in midfield.

"I'm in the team to score goals. I felt like I played well but to get my goal at Wembley was an unbelievable feeling at such a young age."
