Football League chairman Greg Clarke insists their priority with Coventry City is to make sure they finish the season.
Coventry City Football Club Limited went into administration on Friday, but the club say that another company - Coventry City Football Club (Holdings) - runs the football operation, so therefore the club at it stands is not affected.
The club are also still in dispute over unpaid rent at their Ricoh Arena home, and a High Court judge is due to rule on the case this Tuesday.
The Football League say they are yet to make a decision on what, if any, action is needed.
"It is all pretty fluid, no decisions have been made by the Football League at the moment because we haven't got a full picture on what is going to happen as the club only went into administration on Thursday night," Clarke told Sky Sports News.
"We had a conference call on Friday to discuss the situation but we don't have all the facts and we have asked the club and the administrators for all the facts.
"Our job is to work with the club and administrator to find a way for Coventry to fulfil their fixtures, we are waiting not just for those but a number of issues we need clarification on.
"As soon as we have those the board will make a decision, but our job is to try and get Coventry through to the end of the season so the administrator has time to save the club on behalf of the fans."
Clarke does not believe Coventry will be forced to play games away from the Ricoh.
"It is not beyond the wit of man to find a solution to problems like that, it just requires a lot of work," he added.
