The 29-year-old only made one senior appearance for City last season - an FA Cup fourth round tie against Scunthorpe. Taylor started his career at Arsenal, where he made just 18 appearances, and also had loan spells at Bristol Rovers, Crystal Palace, Peterborough and Leicester before he was snapped up by Aston Villa in 2005. Once again, Taylor was playing understudy during his time at Villa Park and he had a season at Cardiff before City came calling for the former England Under-21 international last summer. Taylor has put pen to paper on his new deal following the expiry of his initial 12-month contract and has fully recovered from the knee injury that prevented him from stepping in when Shay Given dislocated a shoulder late last season.
