City failings frustrate Hart

Roberto Mancini's side slipped to a fifth defeat of the season against Aston Villa on Saturday, leaving them three points adrift in the Premier League title race. The Blues have also played more games than all of their fellow challengers, meaning they are now relying on others to offer a helping hand. City accept that they only have themselves to blame, though, with a 1-0 defeat at Villa Park suffered despite dominating the game for long periods. The visitors laid siege to the Villa goal for much of the second half and Hart admits a failure to break down resolute defences could cost the club dear in the long run. "Villa were a team in desperate need of results but so are we," the England international said in The Sun. "They threw everything in the way of the ball, defenders and strikers. "We are gutted and there is anger that we've dominated the second half and not scored. "There is no shoulda, woulda, coulda. We've got to come here and get results. "We've hammered them but not put the ball in the net." City remain in the hunt for Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League glory this term, but Hart concedes that those trophy dreams could go up in smoke if the club do not find a way of grinding out results. He added: "In three weeks, we could be out of the running on all three fronts, so we need to keep getting results."
