Christian Poulsen quits Danish national team

Veteran midfielder Christian Poulsen says he is retiring from international football after playing 92 games for Denmark.
The 32-year-old Poulsen said Monday that it is ''fair'' to stop now before qualifying starts for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Denmark plays its first World Cup qualifier on Sept. 8 against the Czech Republic.
Poulsen scored six goals for Denmark and played in two World Cups and two European Championships.

He also says he is considering his future with French club Evian. Poulsen previously played for Schalke, Sevilla, Juventus and Liverpool.
