Mexican club Chivas of Guadalajara has demoted coach Jose Luis Real and replaced him with Fernando Quirarte.
The change comes after Chivas lost 1-0 to Queretaro over the weekend, extending the club's winless run to four in Mexico's Apertura championship.
The club said Real would stay with Chivas and take over its youth teams.
Quirarte has coached Santos, Atlas and Jaguares, but he is a legend at Chivas. He was captain and an outstanding defender with the team that won the 1986-87 league championship. He was also an assistant to Boris Milutinovic on the Mexico national team.
