Patrick Nyarko scored on a diving header in the 78th minute to help the Chicago Fire beat the Columbus Crew 2-1 on Thursday in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup.

Nyarko headed it past goalkeeper Andy Gruenbaum from 12 yards out. The match was delayed until Thursday because of severe thunderstorms Wednesday night.

Crew midfielder Konrad Warzycha opened the scoring with a header from 9 yards out in the 22nd minute. Ben Speas' free kick set up Warzycha, who split a pair of defenders to head the kick past goalkeeper Sean Johnson.

Mike Magee tied it with an 8-yard kick in the 28th minute, his fourth goal in four matches since joining the Fire.
