Captain John Terry will miss Chelsea's Champions League last-16 first leg with Paris St Germain with a hamstring injury and has not travelled to France.

The 35-year-old went off towards the end of the first half of Saturday's 5-1 Premier League win over Newcastle.

Terry underwent a scan on Sunday and took part in Chelsea's open training session on Monday afternoon, but the club later announced he had not travelled with the squad.

Terry's next appearance will be his 700th for Chelsea and could come in Sunday's FA Cup fifth round tie with Manchester City.
