Chelsea protecting 2-0 lead over Copenhagen in CL

With the Champions League offering Chelsea the last realistic route to a title this season, the London club can't afford to squander its two-goal lead over FC Copenhagen in the round of 16.

The Premier League trophy won last season is slipping out of reach with Chelsea fourth in the standings, while the team's FA Cup defense is also over.

Copenhagen, meanwhile, has a nine-point lead in the Danish standings and will be going on the attack at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Coach Stale Solbakken says: ''It is stupid to go into the defensive when you're behind 2-0.''

Should the Danish side advance, Solbakken says ''it will be the greatest miracle in my football career.''

Neither side has won the European Cup before.
