Chef prepares good luck rice cakes for NKorea team

North Korea's football players had some good luck rice cakes before going into their country's first World Cup match in 44 years.

The pro-Pyongyang, Japan-based Choson Sinbo newspaper reported Tuesday that the team chef prepared traditional rice cakes for the team the previous night.

The rice cakes, known as ``dduk'' (DUCK), are eaten in both Koreas on special occasions and holidays.

North Korea is making it first World Cup appearance since 1966 with an opening game against Brazil at Ellis Park.
