An African Champions League game between Cameroon club Coton Sport and Sewe Sport has been postponed to give the West African country time to negotiate with FIFA over its ban.

Coton Sport coach Sebastien Desarbres said Friday that the club had been informed that this weekend's game in the opening round of the group stage had been put back by a week by the Confederation of African Football.

The Cameroon federation was banned by FIFA on July 4 for government interference following disputed elections, meaning its clubs and national team can't play in international competition.

FIFA said Thursday that a Cameroon government delegation was visiting the world body ''to solve the problems that prompted the suspension.'' Coach Desarbres said the postponement ''is good news'' after Coton Sport faced being expelled.
