The young striker came up against Robert Koren last week as the All Whites lost 3-1 to Slovenia in a warm-up match, before then facing Gonzalo Jara's Chile on Thursday. In an extract from Wood's World Cup diary on the club's official website, he wrote: "I got 45 minutes under my belt (against Chile) and it was a good learning curve for us even though we conceded twice in the final third of the game to lose 2-0. "There was good news for Albion fans as Gonzalo Jara played the full 90 minutes in defence for Chile. It was great to see him playing again after the heartbreak of missing the second half of our promotion campaign. Gonzo was solid, as he usually is when he plays for West Brom. Afterwards we had a little chat and it was good to see him. "I've only got to face Marek Cech on Tuesday now and I will complete a hat-trick of playing against all the World Cup Baggies in less than a fortnight, having gone head-to-head with Robert Koren's Slovenia last week. "Funnily enough, I crossed paths with Marek 11 days ago at the Worthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt, Austria when we beat Serbia 1-0. Slovakia were playing Cameroon at the same stadium straight after and he played 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw. Next week we'll face each other in the real thing."
