Onuoha, on loan from Manchester City, put the Black Cats on the way to victory over Chelsea with a stunning individual goal on the stroke of half-time in Sunday's Premier League clash in west London. Asamoah Gyan added a second early in the second-half before man-of-the-match Welbeck, on loan from Manchester United, grabbed a third with three minutes left. Bruce's side dominated the game and could have won by a bigger margin as Chelsea lost their first home game since last March and suffered their heaviest top flight defeat at Stamford Bridge since 2002. Now Bruce hopes to open talks about signing the pair on a permanent basis when the season ends. "Danny has produced very well and played well," said Bruce. "The sad thing for me is how much will it cost now to buy them? "They're two loan players who have done fantastically well. They've got plenty of time. We'd love them to stay. "We've got them for a year and we'll speak to the respective clubs nearer the time. They're exactly what we're looking for. They are young, energetic and desperate to play. "But all round, the team produced a fantastic performance. I hope people talk about Sunderland rather than Chelsea's poor performance. Apart from the debacle against Newcastle a few weeks ago, we've been terrific."
