Rolando Maran is the new coach of Catania. Maran replaces Vincenzo Montella, who took over at Fiorentina on Monday.
Maran leaves Varese, which he guided to the Serie B playoff final. It lost to Sampdoria on Saturday.
It is Maran's first coaching job in Serie A.
Catania finished 11th last season under Montella.
