Carlo: Torres likes London life

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed reports that Fernando Torres is not happy in London, saying: "He's happy to stay here."

Ancelotti insists Torres is not homesick, but the striker could be rested for Wednesday's match against Copenhagen.

The former Liverpool star has looked a long way from his best and has not scored since his £50million transfer to Stamford Bridge in January.

A combination of Torres' lack of form, a failure to gel with Didier Drogba and downbeat body language have led to suggestions that he is struggling to adapt to life in London.

But the last 18 months of the 26-year-old's Liverpool career were marred by physical fitness problems, while his desire to leave Anfield also had an impact.

And Ancelotti insists that Torres is not unsettled after just one month with Chelsea, as he said: "This is not true. He's happy to stay here.

"We're happy that he's here. He's working very well and doesn't have a problem."

Chelsea's UEFA Champions League last-16 second leg against Copenhagen had appeared ideally suited for Torres to break his scoring duck after a convincing 2-0 win in Denmark.

But Ancelotti, who has praised the Spaniard's work ethic, has revealed that his record-breaking signing could be taken out of the limelight on Wednesday.

He said: "Maybe he will have a rest."
